P.S. - The show on CNBC (Budget Vector) was broadcasted today itself :( ... We received a mail at around 6 pm that the program has been rescheduled... wasn't able to inform neone - I myself was very busy at 10 pm - so didnt watch it!!!! Neways Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!!!

CNBC - Budget Vector

Went to Maurya Shereton today - had shooting of a program on CNBC - TV18 - called Budget Vector.... was a discussion on expectations from budget 2005... Congress spokesperson Mr. Singhvi was also there.... was a decent experience :) Mohit, Nikhil & yours truly represented MDI...

After the shooting was over, three of us were asked to stay back for another shoot... it was some small clippings for a program called Storyboard... I foind it very funny... I was sitting & having a cup of tea over the newspaper & they were shooting me.... then i speak for about a minute what i would have done in this budget....

The first program (Budget Vector) will be broadcasted on Thursday (17th Feb.) @ 10:00 pm (obviously on CNBC TV18)... dunno about the second one (which receive an email about it soon...)

PG03 - You are simply great...

This post comes inspired with the touchy post of Prakash on Pagalguy (http://www.pagalguy.com/cat/showpost.php?p=142182&postcount=1) ...

The placements are around the corner, the tension building up & sentiments flowing freely.... the time has come to bid good bye to our loved PG03 batch after the most sought after placements soon.

The two batches (PG03 & PG04) has together seen many highes & lows in MDI (lows.... i cant recollect any lows).... we were given a warm welcome with the freshers' party, amazing initial support by so many of you, the guidance during summer process, the help during exams & quizzes, the direction for the way forward to conduct projects, the solutions to our dilemmas, the superb mentoring & above all the love.... everything about your batch has been unmatched.

People like Saurav Dey, Prakash Prabhu, Ashutosh Datar, Nidhi Agarwal, Niren Parikh, Apurva Shah, Arti Deewan, Sai, Deepti Gupta and many more have stood by me through my thick & thin... they actually helped me through out these three terms & taught me so many lessons of my life. How can i ever forget the discussions with Datar, the councelling of Deepti & Apurva and the ontime guidance of Joshua for eco quizzes.....

In simpler words... PG03 rocked!!!

BLACK

Am posting a movie review first time on my blog - my blog is not for reviews - but then BLACK is different!!!!

Animesh, Mohit etc. saw the movie yesterday & were all praises for it... I wanted to see the movie on friday itself - but had some presentations - so wasn't able to make it... neways went to movie today with Kedar, Tamanna, Saumya & Rahul... went in with a cheerful mood - came out with wet eyes!!!

The movie is about a girl (Rani) - who is born blind & deaf (and thus mute..) - Amitabh Bachchan takes over as her teacher & the story moves with Rani learning to become a "beautiful lady"........ however during the end - the tables are turned.... (go & watch to see how!!)

There were numerous scenes which can make an emotional person cry - and so it did - the whole of the house was crying .... first i felt as an odd man out - but even i was quite sad watching the movie....

Graduating day scene of Rani, the engagement dinner of Rani's sister, Amitabh regaining his memory - these all were really touchy.... Rani, Amitabh & Junior Rani (i mean the child actress who enacted the childhood of Rani) were amazing on screen... Bhansali has once again proved his metal!!!

BLACK will always be in the list of my favourite movies!!!! It deserves atleast 5 stars, if not more......................

New Look...

My blog has a new look....... once again!!!! I have been changing the layout to reach the one which looks the best.... have changed 3 layouts in last 6 months.... but every layout had some problemwhich i was unable to take!!! Came across this layout recently - found it to be really good - but it also had some problem & so i decided to experiment.

I edited the html coding of the template by myself (i am no techie....) & then converterd the txt file to html file & tested it by running it on internet explorer... (i saw my friend doing that when i was doing C.A.).... the tests were successful & here i am with a modified version of this black skin...

I really like the look of the blog with everything black & grey (admitted that i had black skin earlier also - but that was quite different & stuffy).... it looks quite elegant!!!!

Have made some other changes also - have edited the codes once again to add "Archives", i.e. a list of recent entries to the blog!!!! willl try & add monthly archive also soon!!! Probbaly many more changes are in the pipeline!!!

My groupies are getting irritated of my blog - Tamanna recently said that she'll come to my room to work on project only if i promise that i wont open my blog or pagalguy.com :(

Hope they understand......

Core Competency!!!

Today's strategy lecture forced me to revisit my thinking about my education!!! Should I concentrate on my "core-competency", i.e. finance or probably taxation - or should i "diversify" into other disciplines like marketing, HR etc!!!

However, this dilemma is not new - its just that today's lecture gave more air to it. I have been considering the option of specialising in HR along with Finance, for quite some time now. I think HR is one of the most important discipline today (though some people doubt its relevance some years down the line). I feel that even if someone is a hardcore finance guy or for that matter marketing guy, after some time HR knowledge plays a vital role in the way he manages his subordinates (or probably manages himself)!!!

There are examples of C.A.s in my senior batch who concentrated just on Finance & nothing else... but then do i look up to them & want to like them - no ways - i guess we think quite differently!!! I am not here to "just study".... rather groom myself as a "future CEO" - to manage a company, manage relations & above all manage myself!!! To reach this goal - i guess "diversification" is the key & is here to stay!!!

However, the dilemma continues.............

I am posting one of my poems (wrote on 31st March 2004). Was quite lazy to type the poem in Hindi font & post it here in a pic format (like i did earlier)... so posting the poem in Hindi & English (translation) - both in english fonts!!!

Hindi Version (Original)

Mile the gale pehli baar jo,

Yaad tumhe to hoga hee.

Un sapnon ka mahal abhi bhi,

Aabaad kahin to hoga hee.

Aankhon se tapakta hai jo tere,

Mera bhi paani to hoga hee,

Tumhari zindagi ka ek hissa,
